Where

Gensler Los Angeles, for kindergartens in downtown LA ([school name])

Team

70+ volunteers

When

July 2022 – March 2023 · three installs

Three classrooms, three worlds, 70+ volunteers.

I started Eduscape while I was an interior designer in Gensler’s Los Angeles hospitality studio. The idea: custom, reusable classroom “enhancements” for under-resourced kindergartens in downtown LA.

I came up with it, pitched it, got it funded and designed all three rooms. Then I led a team of more than 70 volunteers to build and install them: National Parks, then Coral Reef, then Goodnight Moon.

1The pitch

It started as a pitch inside the office. Once it was funded, we visited the school in July 2022 to see the rooms we had to work with.
